5th MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championship announced MercedesTrophy winners perform well in Atlanta , USA.

Mr Chatvithai Tantraporn, General Manager, Communications Department, DaimlerChrysler (Thailand) Limited hosted a press conference to announce details of the 5 th MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championships at the Jamjuree Ballroom, Pathumwan Princess Hotel on 24 November 2006.

DaimlerChrysler (Thailand) Limited, the distributors of Mercedes-Benz cars in Thailand , are supporting the MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championships, for a 5 th year, in order to assist young Thai golfers in realizing their ambitions to make an impact internationally on the world of golf.

The 5 th MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championships comprises of six qualifying rounds and a Masters final, in which overseas golfers also compete. There are 3 age categories in the championship, Boys & Girls 12 and Under, Boys & Girls 14 and under and Boys & Girls 18 and under. Six winners from the Masters Final, comprising of one boy and one girl from each of the age categories earns the right to compete in the Teens On The Green World Championship Final in Atlanta USA. Daimler Chrysler ( Thailand ) Limited will pay for the travel expenses of the six winners.

Mr Chatvithai Tantraporn, General Manager, Communications Department of DaimlerChrysler ( Thailand ) Limited stated that "the MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championships is one the events which we support on an ongoing basis, in order to encourage Thai youth to play sports. The programme provides the opportunity for young Thai golfers to experience international competition, both here in Thailand and abroad. In addition, the championship helps to shape character as the golfers gain points during the qualifying rounds for both their skills on the golf course and their educational grades, a combination which builds a strong foundation for their future vocation."

The winners from the 4 th MercedesTrophy Masters Final performed exceptionally well at the Teens On The Green World Championship Final, which was held in Atlanta , USA last month. The team finished 1 st in two classes; the Boys 12 and Under class, was won by Wasun Wattanaserikun and the Girls 12 and Under class, was won by Moriya Jutanukul. In the Girls 18 and Under class, Warunsiri Sirisumpun finished as runner-up and Woramat Usrasakorn finished 3 rd in the Boys 12 and Under class. A number of the golfers who qualified to play in the Teens On The Green World Championship Final are the children of Mercedes-Benz customers.

The qualifying rounds for the 5 th MercedesTrophy Junior Golf Championships will be held as follows: 19 - 20 October 2006 at Watermill, 25 - 26 November 2006 at Sawang Resort, 13 - 14 January 2007 at Sawang Resort, 22 - 23 March 2007 at Uniland, 19 - 20 April 2007 at the Rose Garden and 10 - 11 May 2007 at Watermill. The MercedesTrophy Masters Final will be held at the Rose Garden from 27 - 29 June 2007.
