"Nicha and Kamonwan get wild cards into the 2015 PTT Thailand Open qualifying."
Nicha Lertpitaksinchai and Kamonwan Buayam have been given wild cards into the singles qualifying of the US$250,000 PTT Thailand Open, the tournament organisers announced today. They will join fellow Thai stars Luksika Kumkhum and Tamarine Tanasugarn who are the main draw of the tournament, which will be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel from 08 – 15 February.

The qualifying rounds for the tournament, which is a 16 player draw, will be held on 08-09 February, with matches on 08 February starting from 10.00 and from 15.00 on the 9 February. Four players from the qualifying rounds will make it into the main draw.

Wild card for Tamarine Tanasugarn into the 2015 PTT Thailand Open
Tamarine Tanasugarn has been given a wild card into the main draw of the US$250,000 PTT Thailand Open, which will be held from the 8 -15 February at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya. She will join fellow Thai star Luksika Kumkhum who has gained automatic entry into the main draw.

Tamarine was granted the wild card into the main draw on the strength of her long term commitment to Thai tennis and this year marks the 20th anniversary of her maiden win in the main draw of the Pattaya event. 17-year-old golfer “Frank” Thanakorn Torsee from Navamintrachinuthit Benjamarachalai School came home at 6 under to win the 17 and under class trophy. The female champion went to Jenjira Jinangkul. Hantuchova and Asia’s top stars head the line-up at 2015 PTT Thailand Open
The US$250,000 PTT Thailand Open, WTA professional tennis tournament enters its 24th year on the calendar with a parade of stars headed by two times champion Daniela Hantuchova and a field that includes for the first time all the top Asian stars ranked in the top 100. The winner of the tournament, which will be played at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya from 08-15 February takes home a cheque for US$43,000 and 280 ranking points.

Daniela Hantuchova who won the Pattaya tournament in 2011and 2012 is returning to Pattaya in an attempt to become the first player in the history of the tournament to secure a hat-trick of wins.

Vanuatu are crowned champions at Pattaya, Thailand take 3rd spot
Both the final and 3rd/4th play play-off went to 3 sets at the Pattaya Thailand Challenger, FIVB Beach Volleyball tournament which concluded at Pattaya on Sunday.

The final saw the Vanuatu pair of Elwin and Matauatu take on Japan’s Take and Mizoe. In the opening set the agility and powerful attacking play of the team from Vanuatu saw them romp to an easy 21-11 win. The Japanese team upped their game in the second set forcing the Vanuatu team into making errors at the net and as a result they leveled the match at 1-1 with a comfortable 21-14 score.
